Chart notes
FENDER BENDER pressed the pace on the outside up the backstretch, raced in the three path around the turn, swung wide into the stretch and wore down his rival to edge in front late. FREIBURG led the way on the inside through the opening quarter of a mile, dueled while saving ground around the turn and into the stretch and gave way in the final strides. SWAY ROAD tracked the leaders on the inside in the early going, raced in the two path around the turn, switched to the outside in upper stretch and gained ground steadily on the outside to the wire. HERBIE raced off the pace between horses in the early going, navigated the turn from the two path and was empty from there. EL CENTENARIO raced in the middle of the pack on the outside up the backstretch, came around the turn in the three path and made no bid. MARDEN trailed the field up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, made up some ground in upper stretch and flattened out in the final furlong.
