Chart notes
MEGACITY set the pace two off the rail, was in a long drive to clear the far turn, then continued to rally down the lane, drifted out slightly in the final furlong and held to the wire. FIELD PASS chased the pace from the inside, was saving ground on the backstretch into the far turn, then angled out two wide to rally in the stretch but had to steady in the final furlong and lost momentum. U S NAVY CROSS was unhurried early then moved out four wide on the far turn then continued to bid in the stretch but it was too little too late. PERFECT STAR chased the pace while three wide, was in a steady drive on the backstretch to press the leader on the far turn but gave way in late stretch. SONNEMAN was allowed to settle inside then bid in the upper stretch but was no threat. FRED'STWIRLINCANDY chased the pace while four wide then faded coming into the far turn failed to rally in the end. There was a STEWARD'S INQUIRY and JOCKEY'S OBJECTION following the race. The rider FIELD PASS claimed foul against the rider of MEGACITY for interference in late stretch. After reviewing the replay, MEGACITY was disqualified and placed second.
