THE JUDGE AND JURY away alertly to set the pace, showed the way on the turn, responded when roused entering the stretch, turned back a bid from JET SPEED and drew clear under urging. CANTANKEROUS CAT tracked close up on the inside, chased inside on the turn and rallied on the rail in the stretch drive. JET SPEED raced inside and was steadied at the five furlong marker, shuffled back, made a four wide run on the turn, bid outside the winner entering the stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. R BOY CHEEKUM chased close up two wide early, chased between rivals on the turn and weakened. SMARTY JOHN was in tight between rivals from the five furlong marker to the half mile, shuffled back, then tracked on the turn and lacked a rally. AZTEC raced off the early pace, chased three wide on the turn and faded.
