Chart notes
FAT DADDY vied for the lead along the inside, shifted out three wide nearing the far turn, rallied to make the lead at the top of the stretch, drifted in a bit and edged clear late under strong handling. ITASCA pressed the pace two wide into the far turn, made the lead, drifted to the five path entering the stretch, checked inside the winner nearing the sixteenth pole and finished second best. SLICK SILVER unhurried early, swung wide and closed ground determinedly seven wide. ZITMAN trailed for six furlongs then found his best stride late along the rail. YOUVESAIDITALL failed to menace. MAXIMIZER failed to respond. NOBLE BEHAVIOR with the second flight two wide, gave way on the far turn. LAST DROP OF WINE away alertly, set the pace along the inside to the five sixteenths pole then was used up. THE RIDER OF ITASCA LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF THE WINNER FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. AFTER REVIEW THE STEWARDS UPHELD THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH.
