Chart notes
AMERICAN SPEED lead the way along the inside into the backstretch, then cleared the far turn to draw off in the stretch proving much the best. KNICKS STORY pressed the pace while two wide, was in a steady drive throughout the first three quarters of the course, then rallied in the upper stretch but could not catch the leader. PACE settled along the inside, then menaced from the three path on the far turn into the home stretch and was up for the show prize. TIZ THE COAST chased the pace from the inside, then dropped back slightly heading into the far turn, then rallied in the upper stretch but it was too little too late. GIANT AWAKENING chased the pace while two wide, was in a steady drive on the backstretch, then faded throughout the far turn and had no final bid in the home stretch. CHELONIAN drifted in towards the rail entering the first turn to settle in the two path on the backstretch, then menaced while four wide on the far turn into the stretch and was no threat. GENERAL AFFAIR was out well, was in tight early and steadied going into the turn and trailed.
