Chart notes
INTERNAL CAPITAL tracked on the inside, advanced inside on the far turn, rallied two wide into the stretch, took charge, responded when roused, pulled away under urging and was in hand the final yards. AMERICAN DAY raced off the pace with an inside trip, moved up on the turn, angled off the rail for the drive, closed well late and got up for second at the wire. JERRY'S TURN set a pressured pace on the inside, shook free on the far turn, dug in gamely, was no match for the winner, then lost second at the wire. CAPTAIN QUICK pressed the pace racing close up two wide, chased on the far turn and tired. NINTH OF APRIL was bumped in the chute, raced off the pace between rivals, came four wide into the lane and had no rally. EQUALJUSTICEFORALL was bumped in the chute, raced three wide off the pace, came four wide into the lane and lacked a rally. JOHN JAY stalked close up three wide, chased on the far turn and gave way.
