Chart notes
SMOKEY LEE unhurried in the early going, moved up inside through the second turn, angled four wide into the stretch, made a steady gain and drove clear late. PAPI BELLO allowed to settle, gained position three and four wide through the second turn, shook clear four wide into the stretch, then was no match for the winner late and held the place. GOLDEN OAK well placed, gained position three wide through the second turn, bid on that path into the lane, drifted in and lacked the needed late kick. GOODTIME ARTIE allowed to settle, looped four and five wide through the second turn, fanned widest into the lane and closed well for a share. SHIRLEY'S SHERMAN mid pack, gained position on the two path through the second turn, angled four wide into the stretch and evened out. GENERALONAMISSION well placed, lost some ground three wide through the second turn, then faded four wide into the stretch. GIOVANE'S PROMISE stalked the early pace on the inside, moved up to gain a short lead down the backstretch, shook clear through the second turn, then faded. SUMMER BOSS set the early pace on the outside, stayed on when challenged down the backstretch, then stopped through the second turn.
