Chart notes
THE ROBERT stalked the pace five wide, made a four wide bid on the turn and slowly edged away in the furlong grounds to prove best under a drive. EDICT stalked the pace four wide, made a three wide bid on the turn and vied for command between rivals by the quarter pole, then fought on gamely to the wire while being second best. MINE TO HOLD vied for the early lead between rivals, then checked out of there on the first turn, then tracked the pace from the inside, eased out leaving the quarter pole and came five wide and made a bid, but flattened out. PRETENDANT vied for the early lead three wide, then tracked the pace two wide on the backstretch and weakened. CATTLE DRIVE was void of early, came wide into the lane and had no rally. FOR THE MOMENT vied for the lead on the inside, then went on to set the pace on the backstretch, then battled by the quarter pole and weakened in the drive.
