Chart notes
SHORTMAN raced up close outside the leader early, took over at the three-eighths pole, put away inner rival at the five-sixteenths, opened up in upper stretch and widened under urging and steady handling. FUNKENSTEIN stalked three deep then four wide around the first turn, continued four wide into the second turn, got fanned six wide into the stretch and bested the rest. PRODIGAL SON got bumped leaving the gate, went two then three wide around the first turn, split foes at the entering the far turn, came five wide into the stretch and got outkicked for second. CLUB CAL got bumped leaving the gate, stalked the pace on the inside to the stretch and failed to threaten while gaining a minor award. DR. TROUTMAN set the pace on the inside, held a short lead over SHORTMAN into the far turn, lost command with three furlongs left to run and weakened. NOLONGERAHOBBY stalked two wide into the first turn then became rank and drifted on the bend, traveled three then four wide on the second turn and weakened.
