Chart notes
RUTHLESS INTENT trailed inside for five furlongs, circled five wide around the far turn, closed outside and was up in deep stretch. R ADMIRAL settled off the early pace in the two path, advanced three wide around the far turn, bid between foes in midstretch, took the lead leaving the eighth pole and fought on inside of the winner. SURROGATE stalked the pace two and three wide, took the lead near the three-sixteenths pole, was collared leaving the eighth pole and kept on inside of the top two to hold well clear of the rest. RACKET advanced three wide around the first turn, set the pace two wide down the backstretch and around the far turn then tired in the lane. INSPIRED MISCHIEF failed to menace while racing three wide. RUSSIAN ALPHABET broke through the starting gate but did not get far, set the pace along the rail and was through after a half.
