Chart notes
COOLCROSS saved ground while never far back early on, maintained position through the backstretch run, advanced along the inside nearing the top of the lane, continued that rally to vie for the lead inside of the furlong marker, closed well late and held the runner-up at bay in the final strides to prevail. FAR WEST tracked the moderate pace, prompted his stablemate through modest fractions to the second turn, was repelled in a bid nearing the top of the lane, re-rallied inside of the furlong marker but was outfinished in the final sixteenth by COOLCROSS and held safely for second in the end. IMPLICITLY stalked the early pace from the second flight, came three wide into the backstretch run, gained ground nearing the quarter marker, came four wide into upper stretch, was outkicked in the final sixteenth but stayed on to get up for third in the final strides. DESERT DUDE broke alertly and was sent to the early lead, set modest fractions while prompted by his stablemate through the backstretch run, came under pressure nearing the quarter marker, repelled that challenged and led the way to mid-stretch, could not keep pace late, gave way in the final stages and was just edged for third. NOWHERE MAN stalked the early pace from the second flight, maintained position through the backstretch run, was asked for run at the top of the lane and lacked a late response. SUNNY SPOT lunged at the start and was off a bit slowly, was unhurried through the backstretch run, came five wide into upper stretch and did not offer a late rally.
