Chart notes
RACING RIVER stalked the leader into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, set sail after the pacesetter two wide entering the final turn, took control midway through the turn, and drew off late while being kept to task to prove much the best. MCMURPHY away well and stalked the leader into the backstretch while racing two out from the rail, commenced his bid two wide entering the final turn, and while no match for the winner late, finished two wide in the drive to prove clearly second best. CALAMAZEUS away alertly, but was taken in hand and allowed to drop to the back of the field entering the backstretch, rallied two wide entering the final turn, and closed three wide in the drive to get up for a share. REPRIMAND settled off the pacesetters while racing three wide entering the backstretch, rallied two wide entering the final turn, but was unable to mount a serious late bid while finishing one out from the rail in the drive. IT'S IN COMMAND broke sharply and raced to a clear lead from along the rail entering the backside, maintained his lead in the run to the final turn, was quickly tacked and overtaken by RACING RIVER soon after entering the turn, and faded in the late stages. LUCKY LUKE settled off the early pace while racing two wide into the backstretch, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, but failed to mount a late bid when called upon.
