Chart notes
MY HEAVY SON veered out slightly leaving the gate, raced at the back of the pack on the outside up the backstretch, navigated the turn from the three and four path, began a bid approaching the quarter pole and gained ground on the outside to pull clear late. OURQUICKDRAWMCGRAW led the field on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, was caught in late stretch and kept on to the wire. HALF A DOODLE chased the leaders from the middle of the pack early, raced in the three path around the turn and finished evenly. JUST PLAIN MAD pressed the pace between horses through the opening quarter of a mile, came around the turn in the two path and weakened in the stretch. ROCK STAR ALEX trailed the field on the inside through the opening stages, saved ground around the turn and made up some distance on the field in the lane while never threatening. SUNSET WAR ducked out at the start, recovered to track the leader on the outside up the backstretch, began a bid from the three path coming around the turn and tired in the final furlong.
