ABOUT TODAY (ARG) pressed the pace on the outside up the backstretch, raced in the three path around the turn and dueled gamely down the lane to edge clear late. CHESS MASTER led the field on the inside up the backstretch, navigated the turn from the two path and dug in gamely in the lane to just miss. RUNNINGWSCISSORS tracked the leaders on the inside through the opening quarter of a mile, saved ground around the turn and kept on in the lane. BLESSED ARION stalked the pace setters on the outside up the backstretch, raced in the four path around the turn and was outkicked in the stretch. DEFEND chased the leaders between horses in the early going, came around the turn in the two path and weakened in the lane.
