Chart notes
LATE SEPTEMBER raced within contention, had an outside trip, took the advantage around the second turn, drove clear and won under steady urging. KING'S LUTE raced near the middle of the field, came around the second turn on the outside, made a wide bid, finished willingly and was best of others. THE BOSS SOSS raced in the middle of the field, made a mild bid, but proved no match for the top two. RANCH WATER lacked early speed, showed late interest, but was no factor. CRAVENS pressed the early pace and faded. FREE FROM GUILT raced within contention, made a steady retreat and was no threat late. BISPING went to the front, drove clear, saved ground and faded. GOBOT always raced near the back, came around the first turn wide and showed little. PINCH ME A PENNY void of early speed and was outrun. THE JOCKEY OF #2 KING'S LUTE LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #8 LATE SEPTEMBER FOR INTERFERENCE DOWN THE HOME STRETCH. AFTER VIEWING REPLAYS STEWARDS TOOK NO ACTION.
