Chart notes
TED HASTINGS (IRE) was well rated throughout, advanced on the inside on the far turn and drafted in behind the duel, tipped out after the last fence and was put to a long drive and wore down HOWYABUD late to prove best. HOWYABUD (IRE) was well placed on the inside throughout, made a inside bid on the far turn and dueled for the lead leaving the turn, then shook clear after the last fence, dug in gamely but could not hold off the winner late, second best. BOOBY TRAP stalked the pace three wide and made a three wide bid to duel for the lead on the outside on the far turn, but faded after the last fence, bested rest. BALTIMORE KID (IRE) made mistakes over the first and second fences, then was roused and got into stride, then passed the tiring rivals late. DECISIVE TRIUMPH set the pace and then gave way after the tenth fence. AWAKENED tired.
