Chart notes
MODERN DAY ROMANCE settled back in the three and four paths the first turn, started a bid leaving the seven sixteenths pole and improved steadily, rounded the far turn in the five path and dug in through the final furlong to get up the closing strides. BURR HILL BULLET rated a short lead inside, came under pressure leaving the three eighths pole, raced near the rail on the far turn, dug in under steady stretch encouragement but was caught in the final stride, while able to hold on for second. TIMMY saved ground off the pace, bid leaving the three eighths pole, rounded the far turn off the rail, left the turn in the three path then outfinished for second in late strides. MR CHANCE ROMANCE rounded the first turn in the four path, bid leaving the three eighths pole, raced close at the rail on the far turn and ran evenly in the lane. SARGENT KOBE saved ground well off the pace, picked up the chase nearing the three eighths pole, ran at the rail on the far turn and finished evenly. SLEW THE TURN settled off the rail the first turn, gave chase from the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn in the four path and showed little in the lane. STRINGFELLA stalked two deep, gave chase nearing the three eighths pole then weakened off the rail on the far turn. SPECTACULO rounded the first turn about the three path, entered the backstretch outside, gave chase toward the three eighths pole and weakened on the far turn.
