THE HEAT IS ON set the pace while being well handled, was in a long sustained drive in the stretch and held sway in a game effort. HAPPY ROMANCE was well placed while two wide on the backstretch, rallied on the far turn and gamely dug in throughout the stretch but hung in deep stretch. LIONS NOT SHEEP stalked the pace while inside on the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn and made a bid but was no menace in late stretch. COST AVERAGE stalked the pace while three wide on the backstretch and into the turn but was no threat. BEST TIME was allowed to settled then failed to menace. RARE STRIPE pressed the early pace while two wide on the backstretch, was used up and gave way. VETERAN'S HOLIDAY was inside on backstretch but trailed throughout.
