MY SWEET WIFE was taken up between foes early then guided quickly to the outside, settled outside down the backstretch, was urged five wide around the turn, gained to take the lead in upper stretch and edged clear in the final furlong under steady urging. BLUE PAYNT tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid in the four path around the turn, took the lead passing the five-sixteenths, lost the advantage to the winner in upper stretch and was outfinished while clear for the place. GIRL OF TOSCONOVA pressed the pace on the outside, took the lead in the three path outside the three-eighths pole, lost the advantage to the runner-up under urging passing the five-sixteenths, turned into the stretch in the two path and weakened but was clear for the show. VEGAS WEEKEND settled at the rear, was urged two then three wide around the turn, floated five wide into the stretch and was no factor. SHE'S A BLACK BELT displayed good speed, showed the way under pressure, vied along the rail on the turn, lost the lead outside the three-eighths and faded.
