LITIGATE chased the pace down the backstretch, went five wide on the turn, dropped to the four path nearing the quarter-pole, gained under a drive to make a bid into the final furlong, took the lead into the final sixteenth and prevailed under strong urging. INDEX FUND showed speed then pressed the pace between foes, took a short lead in the three path on the turn, dropped to the two path approaching the quarter-pole, battled with CLUBHOUSE past the eighth-pole, fought inside of two foes in the final furlong, drifted out around the sixteenth-pole and missed while able to get the place. CLUBHOUSE pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the four path around the turn, dropped to the three path near the quarter-pole, battled with the runner-up past the eighth-pole, fought between rivals in the final furlong, drifted out some around the sixteenth-pole and just missed the place while clear for the show. SLIP MAHONEY was unsettled in the gate then broke a step slow, raced outside under urging, moved in later on the backstretch, went three to four wide on the turn, remained on his inside lead until outside the sixteenth-pole and secured the last spot in the superfecta. CHESS SPECTACULAR broke out and bumped with a foe, settled off the pace, was urged while moving from the two path to the four path on the turn and failed to threaten. EQUAL PROTECTION was hustled from the start then ridden along off the pace, went three wide on the turn, was driven four wide into the stretch and came up empty. PAROS broke a half-step slow, was urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond. GOLDEN BIRD FOREST showed good speed, set the pace under pressure from the outside, lost the lead in the two path under urging on the turn, dropped back into the stretch and faded. DANUBE bumped with a rival at the start, was hard ridden on the outside, floated from the six path to the eight path around the turn and faltered then was eased but walked off.
