Chart notes
CANDY ISLAND dueled on the lead throughout, drew off late under left handed urging. YEARS AGO dueled with the winner from the rail, was outfinished late but was second best. FORTUNE BOUND was unhurried early, saved ground down the backside, angled out three wide in the stretch and had mild bid. SCARRAZANO had good position throughout and lacked a late response. CONTESSINA allowed to settle, saved ground and was no menace. ST. LOUIE ARCH was unhurried early and was outrun. MO NIGHEAN DONN steadied slightly in the first turn, was well placed for five eights, the gave way. The rider of MO NIGHEAN DONN claimed foul against the rider of CANDY ISLAND for alleged interference in the first turn. After viewing the tape the stewards took no action.
