Chart notes
MARSALIS prompted the pace from along the inside, took the lead entering the stretch and maintained a safe advantage. HE'SMYHONEYBADGER was allowed to settle in stride while racing between horses, came three-wide into the stretch and finished strongly. SURFER DUDE was reserved off the early pace, rallied four-wide into the stretch and was gaining late. EMBRACE was unhurried early, came five-wide into the stretch and gained his best stride too late. VERB saved ground while being forwardly placed, angled out nearing the quarter pole and finished in a mild rally. COASTAL DEFENSE saved ground setting the pace into the stretch and weakened slightly late. BROKEN RIB prompted the issue to the stretch while three-wide and tired. WAYAKIN was close up early racing along the inside, steadied nearing the half mile pole in tight, angled out six-wide on the turn, offered a mild bid and then faltered. GALLANT GUY gave way after showing brief early speed.
