Chart notes
NEVER HAVE I EVER (IRE) broke sharply, sprinted clear inside of his rivals along the inside to dictate the pace into the bend, held sway on a widening advantage past midstretch and held the late challenge of RACE DRIVER under firm encouragement. The latter angled to the inside tracking off the second flight racing to the turn, angled out four wide racing into upper stretch, then shifted inwards under pressure while continuing willingly to close the gap to the end. MALPAIS, reserved inside foes in the opening stages, shifted off the inside nearing upper stretch, angled five wide entering the lane, was prompted to advance while hopping a shadow midstretch but continued with interest to edge a rival for a share. IAN GLASS, carried inwards by ADIOS ASHER while caught in close quarters in the opening furlong, shifted out three wide racing into the bend while being prompted to advance, moved to striking position in that path entering the lane but quickly flattened out. ADIOS ASHER angled in sharply in the opening stages crossing the path of IAN GLASS while being urged to a position pursuing the pacesetter between foes into the turn, gave way nearing midstretch. LAND MARK DEAL settled between foes in the last flight on the backstretch, was fanned six wide entering the lane but lacked a rally. STAR OF KODIAK, slow to gather stride, never gained contention. W W HOTSHOT was urged inside foes through close quarters pursuing the pacesetter into the turn, then gave way into upper stretch.
