Chart notes
DUKE OF DARKNESS was away alertly and quickly made the lead, led throughout, bore out late under right handed urging and remained clear. PLAY BALL was never far back, rallied in the stretch four wide, steadied slightly late and held place. MO DONT NO raced mid pack early, rallied inside and finished well. GOLDEN MONEY was unhurried early, rallied five wide and closed a gap late. CHIEF RANDEL was allowed to settle, early swung wide in the stretch and was no threat late. LITTLE BLAKER had good position on the inside and lacked a late response. MIDNIGHT MIKEY contended until the top of the stretch, then gave way. The stewards posted the inquiry sign and the rider of PLAY BALL claimed foul against the rider of DUKE OF DARKNESS for alleged interference in late stretch. After viewing the tape the stewards took no action.
