Chart notes
CARMEN MIRANDA pressed the pace from outside, dueled around the turn, cleared midstretch and held safely. VELLA settled off the pace, saved ground through the turn, angled out midstretch and gained ground on the winner late. TIGER SPICE set the pace under pressure from outside, dueled along the rail through the turn, lost command at the three-sixteenths pole and flattened to third. SHANGHAI SUNRISE chased two wide into the turn, between rivals then four wide into the lane and weakened. LA AGUILILLA stalked on the inside, eased off the rail and entered the lane three wide and never responded to urging. SQUARE TOMATOES bumped at the start, stalked the top pair from outside, traveled three deep on the turn then came five wide into the stretch and tired. FLYING TO THE LINE bumped leaving the gate, raced at the back outside rival then came three wide into the stretch and had little left for the stretch run.
