Chart notes
CATINANDSCATIN went to the clear lead and set the pace throughout to prove much the best. BELLA'S GATSBY settled in the middle of the pack from three wide around the first turn then moved up from four wide on the backstretch, dueled around the final turn, drifted in during the stretch drive and held the place. MIDNIGHT OIL tracked the leaders from the inside to the final turn then dueled around the final turn, was in tight in mid stretch but fought gamely to the wire. SWEET PRESENT was void of the early speed to the final turn made a three to four wide bid to give a late effort. SHOETRICK was off the pace in the three path and retreated. WHEELS TURNING was allowed to settle but was never a threat. LONG WARRIOR was close up in the two path to the three eighths pole and stopped. JOCKEY OF MIDNIGHT OIL CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST JOCKEY OF BELLA'S GATSBY FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH, AFTER A STEWARDS REVIEW THE CLAIM OF FOUL WAS DISALLOWED.
