Chart notes
TAIBA gave chase under coaxing early on, went three wide into the turn, bid between rivals past the five-sixteenths pole, took over late on the bend, fought with STRAIGHT NO CHANSER to the eighth pole, then shook free and drew off in deep stretch. FORBIDDEN KINGDOM cleared the field from inside and set the pace up the backstretch, challenged by a pair of rivals past the five-sixteenths pole, lost command past the quarter pole, chased the leaders into the final furlong and stayed on well to best the rest. HOIST THE GOLD settled off the pace, went two wide into the turn, angled out and was driven four wide into the lane and gained the show. NAKATOMI unhurried in the early going, rounded the bend two wide then angled out into the stretch and kept on to round out the superfecta. STRAVA sat off the pace, took the turn four wide then moved out in the lane but failed to rally. APPREHEND chased on the inside then moved out in the stretch and lacked further response. STRAIGHT NO CHASER chased the pacesetter from outside early, bid three deep on the turn, fought with TAIBA in upper stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. MESSIER chased on the inside at the back and failed to make an impact. PERFECT FLIGHT chased in range up the backstretch, lost ground in the three path through the turn and faded.
