STATE OF THE UNION chased in the two path early, between foes into the far turn, continued two wide into the, moved out to take aim at the leader, drew alongside midstretch and drove by to prove best. BIG SWEDE chased along the rail into the first turn then tipped outside the ECONOMICAL on the first turn, was closest in pursuit to the far turn, launched a bid from outside around the bend, took over at the eighth pole but could not fend off STATE OF THE UNION in the late stages. ECONOMICAL took control early and crossed over to the inside, set the pace to the far turn, met the challenge from BIG SWEDED around the bend, lost the lead with a furlong remaining but stayed on well to finish a game third. SIPPIN N KISSIN stalked two wide then along the inside early, pushed on through the far turn next to the fence, moved out a bid in the lane and finished willingly late. ROGUE SON was off slow to begin, traveled three wide outside a rival on the clubhouse turn, raced three deep up the backstretch, continued off the rail into the lane and failed to threaten. SUPER CLASSIC unhurried in the two path, saved ground into the stretch and failed to menace. MAYNARD forwardly placed three wide early, pressed on three deep on the far turn and weakened. CANDY FOR CARMEL raced three wide off the pace early, dropped back while urged along on the backstretch, traveled between foes then two wide into the lane, altered out at the eighth pole and never responded to urging.
