Chart notes
FIGHT FIERCELY was allowed to settle early, rallied on the turn three wide, closed determinedly and drew clear late under firm handling. HITSVILLE raced close up throughout, rallied on the inside and was up for place. ABKER pressed the pace throughout and finished willingly. AURA OF GOLD was away alertly and quickly made the lead, remained clear in mid stretch and weakened late. BELL CURVE raced wide early and was no menace. BAYTOWN BEAVER was no factor. BATTLE OF ISSUS had brief foot, and gave way. PERSIAN GATE was outrun. The stewards posted the inquiry sign but took no action.
