Chart notes
VERDANDI set a pressured pace inside, edged clear then held rival safe through the final furlong under steady handling. SWEET FURY broke poorly, saved ground close up, angled out on the turn, loomed a threat but could not get by the winner. VALIANT MAJESTY outrun early, advanced outside then flattened out in the stretch. ISLAND BELLE dropped back at the start, rallied inside then proved empty. CLOUDY TIMES prompted the winner outside for half a mile and gave way. RANDOM LUCK was urged close up three wide down the backstretch then stopped. TUDOR PEAK chased very wide within range early then stopped abruptly.
