Chart notes
WHISKEY AND RYE took the lead at the half mile pole and established brisk fractions, widened at the rail on the turn and was steadily handled in the lane. MY LOVELY GIRL chased through the backstretch, rounded the turn off the rail, eased out leaving the turn but had to settle for second best. BACI gave chase, raced near the rail on the turn and ran evenly in the lane. BENEATH THE STARS chased the leaders and rounded the turn about the four path, left the turn outside and showed little in the lane. REIGN ON AND ON gave chase, rounded the turn about the three path and flattened in the lane. ALPINE MOON gave chase, rounded the turn off the rail and showed little more. R WORKING GIRL came away rank, gave chase outside and was not a factor.
