Chart notes
PAYNT BATTLE tracked the leaders down the backstretch then made a three wide bid at the quarter pole to engage the leader at the three sixteenths pole and drew clear. OXXON set the pace for a half, was headed at the three sixteenths pole and fought gamely to hold the place. SPEEDY G was hustled away from the gate to be off the pace down the backstretch made a bid at the quarter pole from between horses but was empty in the drive. ESCROW STYLE raced near the back down the backstretch then made a three wide bid on the turn and into the stretch to improved position. NATE'S REVENGE was allowed to settle around the first turn then moved out to three wide at the five sixteenths pole but failed to menace. TENOR was unhurried around the first turn then moved up on the backstretch and faltered. SERBIAN SAILOR saved ground but was outrun.
