HOODLUM showed no early speed, saved ground through the second turn, reached the fore into the lane, opened a clear margin with a furlong to run, responded when challenged by SOCAL RED nearing the sixteenth pole, vied with that rival, bumping repeatedly and proved best. SOCAL RED was reserved just off the leaders early, moved five-wide through the second turn, reached the winner with a sixteenth to run, vied with that rival bumping repeatedly and just missed. STAR SAILOR chased the leaders while racing three-wide throughout and failed to gain in the drive. BARNFIELD bobbled at the start, raced just off the leaders early while racing from between foes, moved five-wide through the second turn and finished evenly in the drive.
