Chart notes
DERBY DAY DREAMS pressured the pace through the backstretch and contested at a close disadvantage two deep on the turn, dueled for the lead past the eighth pole, drew clear inside the sixteenth pole and widened under steady handling. GOLDEN G chased through the backstretch, raced two deep on the turn and dug in from the head of the lane to take the nod for second under the wire. AMIDSHIPS took the lead at the half mile pole and set a pressured pace, contested the edge at the rail on the turn, was steadily handled from the eighth pole but gave up the lead soon afterward, relented mid-stretch and flattened later yards. SETTLEMENT DATE was shuffled back at the start, gave chase through the backstretch, raced in the three path of the turn and passed rivals in the lane. MI GUSTO ES chased inside, rounded the turn at the rail then weakened past the eighth pole. SUBJECT TO CHANGE was bumped leaving the gate, gave chase through the backstretch, rounded the turn near the rail, eased out leaving the turn but showed little in the lane. FIRST NAVY ADMIRAL broke outward and made contact with Subject To Change then gave chase, raced at the rail on the turn and weakened in the lane. CANT STOP THIS MAN gave chase and rounded the turn about the five path. SUPER JORDAN chased outside, rounded the turn in the six path and weakened.
