HERE COMES BULLET broke out and bumped an outer foe at the start, stalked in the two path, tipped out and ranged up in the four path passing the three-eighths pole, bid from the five path at the top of the stretch, took the lead nearing the eighth pole, and drew clear in the final furlong. SMALL REASON got bumped by an inner foe at the start, was prompted along in the three path and under a ride around the turn, floated out to the seven path into the stretch, and kept on to get up for place late. JOE DI BAGGIO dueled for the lead along the inside, was coaxed nearing the quarter pole and was in the three path at the top of the lane, lost the lead to the eventual winner nearing the eighth pole, flattened out in the final furlong and was caught by an outer foe late to show. NEW YORK'S FINEST dueled for the lead in the two path, was roused into the turn, but yielded passing the quarter pole.
