Chart notes
SPEAK OF THE DEVIL was bumped early but moved to a slim lead two deep toward the nine sixteenths pole and rated the pace, kept the edge over Buy Here Pay Here leaving the three eighth pole, pulled clear of that one midway on the far turn and was kept alert through the lane. ONLY GET'N BETTER raced well back toward the inside on the first turn, started a bid leaving the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn in the four and five paths and finished well to take second the final strides. TAKE AIM was forced inward and into Speak Of The Devil shortly after the start then rated off the rail on the opening turn, picked up the chase from the seven sixteenths pole, raced near the rail on the far turn and ran evenly down the lane. BUY HERE PAY HERE raced with the pace inside, challenged the winner nearing the three eighths pole but dropped back at the rail midway on the far turn and flattened inside the sixteenth pole. MIMS SECOND CHANCE rounded the first turn in the five path, gave chase from the seven sixteenths pole and raced at the rail on the far turn, then weakened. BABY BULLDOG bore in soon after the start then settled off the rail on the first turn, gave chase leaving the seven sixteenths pole but flattened in the three path of the far turn. CAN'T STOP MAXEY showed little response through the backstretch.
