Chart notes
DOWNTOWN CONNECTOR went to the front on the outside, moved clear with five furlongs to run, vied near the rail on the turn, turned into the stretch in the two path, remained on his inside lead until outside the eighth-pole then swapped to the proper lead, responded well in the final furlong and held under strong urging to win at big odds. OLD POINT settled towards the rear, moved from three to five wide on the turn, shifted out in upper stretch, chased outside into the final furlong, gained gradually into the final sixteenth but missed while able to get the place. PROVEN HOPE settled on the outside, was urged four wide around the turn, drifted out in upper stretch, chased the winner in the final furlong and lost the place while able to get the show. WARRIOR RICHARD ducked in at the start, settled off the pace, was roused while inside on the turn and failed to rally. LET FREEDOM SPRING pressed the pace on the inside of the leader, dropped back with five furlongs to run, chased in the two path around the turn and tired. STEADY PROGRESS settled off the pace, was urged along in the two path around the turn and lacked the needed response. STORMANDY settled off the pace, was urged three wide on the turn, spun four wide into the stretch and came up empty. LEFTY'S WAR dropped back while crowded at the start, lagged at the rear, went around the turn in the two path and was no factor.
