Chart notes
KOKOKOMO was well rated along the inside on the backstretch, was moving up on the far turn to rally in the early stretch, took command then drew off under a confident hand drive. NEWPORT BEACH was in a steady drive while settling in the three path down the backstretch and into the far turn, then rallied in the upper stretch to close willingly in the end. CELERITY was allowed to settled while two wide on the backstretch, then made a mild bid from the inside in the stretch but came up empty in the end. GORDON ANTHONY stalked the pace while two wide from the first turn into the second turn, then menaced from the four path in the early stretch then flattened out in the end. CLIFF DIVER set the pace heading into the backstretch, was in a long drive throughout the far turn, was used up and tired in the home stretch.
