Chart notes
SWISS GUARD was away alertly to set the early pace, drew clear on the turn and then drew off in the stretch to prove much the best under a hand ride. BLAME SHIFTER was off a step slow, settled into stride and advanced on the inside on the turn, then finished willingly to get the place award. MINING CAMP chased the early pace three wide, then angled in to the inside on the turn, angled out leaving the turn and was outfinished for the place award. MODIFIER hopped at the start, settled back and was on the inside on the turn, then found best stride late. CHERRY ORCHARD was off slowly, reserved early and lacked a rally. LOCOMOTE was off slowly and failed to menace. PASSING TIME vied for the early lead on the inside, then shifted out when the winner got to the front, three wide on the turn and stopped.
