Chart notes
GUNTOWN was settled in hands off the pace early on in the three path, was encouraged at the half mile pole, gained ground, was lightly tapped at the three eighths pole, responded well and was two wide entering the stretch, was driven past rivals and split the leading group of rivals at the eighth mile pole, battled in a four way battle, passed challengers and drew away late. TIWANAKU vied for the early lead, set the pace as he raced along the rail, was challenged and passed by a foe racing along his outside, shifted out from behind new leader, stalked from the three path, pressured the leader until the three eighths pole, drew beside of and matched strides, was quickly joined by an inside challenger, battled and was joined by another challenger on the outside was in between and in the heat of battle and was joined by yet a third challenger on hi inside, the battle ensued for the entire length of the stretch and TIWANAKU just missed. late. BLUE JAYS broke and settled along the rail four lengths off of the leader, angled out into the three path at the three eighths pole as he launched a bid, was within striking distance at the quarter pole, was encouraged and kept on point, drew along side of the leaders and battled past the sixteenth pole and succumbed to the two inside rivals late. CRUMP was sent out for the lead, was able take the lead after the six furlong pole, angled into the one path and set the pace until the three eighths pole, was challenged by the early leader on the outside, matched strids and battled with this rival all the way the way through the turn and past the eighth mile pole with still no clear winner, was joined by another rival on the outside, continued to battle and gave way late. SETNA THE WISE was slow into stride, raced well of the the pace along the rail, closed and was able to pass tired rivals late. COUSIN LARRY raced off the pace early, closed late but had no impact.
