Chart notes
SATCHEL DE RITCHES forced the pace under urging outside, dueled on the turn, bid clear in midstretch and held on gamely. FORTY COMETS hustled to the front inside, was collared on the turn, dropped back briefly near the eighth pole but came again in a determined effort. SHANGHAI SUPERFLY prompted the pace three wide, faded on the turn but lasted for the show. GOLDEN SPOKE chased in the two path then continued willingly inside through the stretch. GENGHIS prompted the pace five down the backstretch and faltered. DATHOSS stumbled at the start, recovered to force the pace inside then tired. LITTLE HARBOUR broke in a complete tangle and bobbled at the break losing any chance, rushed to contention then faded. The stewards conducted an inquiry into the start of the race.
