Chart notes
ULTIMATE GAMBLE chased four wide early, stalked outside the top pair up the backstretch, bid three deep on the final turn, took over into the lane, cleared in upper stretch and inched away in the final sixteenth. PALAGIO took a bump from outside at the start, was unhurried early on the inside, took closer order in the middle stages, made progress on the far turn while angling out, took aim four wide into the stretch, finished willingly through the final furlong but could not threaten the winner. LIFT OFF broke in and bumped rival, took control and moved inside early, pressured by FLAT ON then cleared on the backstretch, challenged by that rival again into the far turn, vied inside a pair of rivals at the quarter pole, lost command into the stretch and flattened to third. FLAT ON pressed from outside early then chased up the backstretch, challenged again from outside into the far turn, fought between rivals at the quarter pole, could not kick on with the winner in upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. SEVENTEEN BLACK chased five then four wide early, remained off the rail then went two wide into the far turn, trailed four wide into the stretch and had little left for the drive.
