CARAVEL vied two wide, then along the inside into the turn, met an outer challenge turning for home, gamely clung to a very slim margin from that one through the lane, and was strong-willed to hold steadfast to the wire. BAD BEAT BRIAN prompted the pace three to two wide into the turn, bid turning for home sparking a duel, battled gamely while at even terms through the final furlong, but was denied an advantage late. ARREST ME RED tracked from midpack four wide, fanned to the six path entering the lane, rallied along with an inner OCEANIC, dueled for show with that foe while closing in on the top pair late, and prevailed for that position while running out of ground to catch the leaders. OCEANIC pursued from midpack two wide and between horses, shifted to the five path entering the lane, rallied with an outer ARREST ME RED through the lane, vied for show through the final furlong, but missed. MARK OF THE Z took back at the half mile pole, laid unhurried far back along the inside, rallied by splitting foes two wide in midstretch, and stayed on to gain a minor share. BAKERS BAY broke slowly, raced far back two wide, shifted out to the six path in midstretch, and moved up outside of rivals. STITCHED tracked three wide, spun into the lane in the four path, and lacked a bid. NOBLE EMOTION saved ground off of the pace, shifted to the four path in upper stretch, but made little impact. MISTER MMMMM tracked two wide while under a snug hold behind the leaders into the turn, but lacked a bid in the three path in upper stretch, and weakened between horses. ALL IN SYNC broke slowly, and never got involved two wide. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS was antsy in the starting gate, laid close up along the inside, stalked entering the turn, but only managed to chase in upper stretch before fading. JOHNNY UNLEASHED was outrun in the two path.
