Chart notes
STORMIN MELLY well placed and inside, moved up two and three wide through the second turn, came four wide into the stretch, edged ahead at the furlong marker, then drew off and was kept to the task. DELTA WISHES rated back early, was well placed outside, held position two and three wide through the second turn, came three wide into the stretch and lacked the needed late kick. EMPTY ENVELOPE bumped slightly at the start, was rated back early, moved up three and four wide through the second turn, came five wide into the stretch and flattened out. SWIGERT tracked the pace well back, moved up inside through the second turn to gain a short lead, then weakened the final furlong and held a share. GARBET passed a drifting and tired rival. YOU DO YOU sprinted to a long lead soon after the start, then drifted out badly through the second turn and faded.
