Chart notes
FLETCHER STATION was rated on the inside, shifted out leaving the five sixteenths and came four wide into the lane, then raced a little green when straightened, then closed well on the outside to get up and edged away late under a drive. WHISKIED UP set the pace on the inside and shook clear on the turn, then turned back the bid from SIR STEELE by the furlong marker but was caught late by the winner, second best. SIR STEELE was rated along on the outside, made a three wide move on the turn to loom boldly off the turn but flattened out the final furlong, bested rest. DON'T QUESTION ME was rated three wide and in between rivals early, then weakened. HE'S FANCY FREE was settled four wide and was not a threat. REIGNING CHAMPION stalked the pace two to three wide and tired. MARY'S LITTLE MAN was settled inside to two wide and tired.
