BANDERA AZTECA was sent to establish the early lead, raced to a clear advantage along the first turn, settled along the backstretch run and was well rated to the far turn, carved out moderate fractions to the quarter marker, was set down in upper stretch, held foes at bay to the furlong marker, kept to task under steady urging to the sixteenth-marker, dug in in the final stages and lasted for the win at the finish. ECOLOGIST unhurried in the early going, raced three wide into the backstretch run, advanced heading to the second turn, was coaxed along two wide into the second turn, came three wide into the stretch, gained ground at the furlong pole, made a steady bid to deep stretch, came within aim inside of the sixteenth-marker but could not get by the determined winner and was up in time to secure second. EXPLAIN THIS AUDIT allowed to settle, was well placed while two wide through the backstretch run, slipped to the rail into the second turn, gained ground in upper stretch, raced while within aim through the drive but could not muster the needed late response and was outfinished, while holding safely for third. HEY MATE broke alertly, took back to settle off of the loose pacesetter along the first turn, advanced to stalk BANDERA AZTECA through the backstretch run, lost position along the far turn, was steered four wide into the stretch and ran evenly in the drive.
