Chart notes
OCEAN CITY quick to begin to set his own uncontested pace, raced well clear through the upper stretch, shortened strides late and prevailed under strong handling. CARRONADE settled along the inside, angled four wide near the upper stretch and closed in well on the leader late in a game finish. BASSANIO (GB) stalked the pace two deep from the outside of foe, raced two to three wide in the drive and kept on to the wire. K'S PICK stalked the pace along the inside and was outkicked in the drive while racing near the rail. PALIO settled early, moved up five wide into the upper stretch and flattened out. CANDY FOR CARMEL raced with the second flight early on, was along the inside into the upper stretch and raced evenly with no closing run. REEL WELL race mid pack early on was three to four wide in the drive and had no rally. MR. SHADES OF GRAY was reluctant to load, off a step slow, settled mid pack, raced five to six wide into the upper stretch and weakened. GRANDPA'S KID broke in, bumped with rival, raced near the back of the pack early, was along the inside around the far turn and never threatene.d. BOLD LICORICE was bumped at the start, dropped back early to race with second flight, raced four wide past the quarter pole and nevrer threatened. PROPHETS VOICE (IRE) was squeezed at the start, trailed early and never menaced. NANTASKET BEACH stalked the pace from the outside, raced five wide into the upper stretch and faded.
