COUNTRY COWBOY broke sharply and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the backstretch, set a pressured pace from the inside of SLOOP JOHN B in the run down the backside and through the final turn, took control leaving the turn and quickly drew clear to prove best. DEPUTY'S DANCER broke outwards in the opening strides while bumping with JERSEYS IMAGE, tracked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing two out from the rail, rallied three wide entering the final turn, and finished three wide in the drive to prove second best. TEX TONIC broke inwards while bumping and crowding horses to his inside, before settling off the contested early pace, rallied two wide through the final turn, and finished one out from the rail in the drive to garner a share. SLOOP JOHN B away alertly and dueled for the lead from the outside of COUNTRY COWBOY entering the first turn, forced the issue two wide in the run down the backstretch and into the final turn, was unable to keep tabs on his pace rival leaving the turn, and was outfinished late. TRAPALIS was squeezed soon after the start, and forced to settle well off the early pacesetters entering the backstretch, saved ground through the final turn, and was unable to make a serious late impact while finishing three wide in the drive. ONE FIFTY ONE unhurried early while trailing the field into the backstretch, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon. SILARONE was bumped and squeezed soon after the start, and dropped well off the contested early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, but failed to make a late impact. JERSEYS IMAGE was bumped and pushed out in the opening strides, and raced five wide into the backstretch to gain a stalking trip, dropped back in the run to the final turn, and faded over the final furlong.
