Chart notes
WAR TOCSIN showed speed along the inner rail, disputed the pace around the turn, drifted to the four path when sprinting clear in upper stretch and lasted. HELLO HOT ROD saved ground on the turn, remained along the rail in the stretch and rallied. YOUNGEST OF FIVE ,rank at the break, three deep on the turn, chased the pace, was fanned five wide in upper stretch and flattened out. INDIAN LAKE lacked speed, circled the turn three wide, floated to the six path in upper stretch and failed to sustain his move. JOHN THE BEAR raced in the two to three path on the turn and failed to menace. WHISKEY AND YOU , along the inner rail on the turn, was outrun. EXCULPATORY , steadied in close quarters near the five eighths pole, prompted the pace outside the winner for a half mile, gave way and was eased late.
