Chart notes
SIR SMOAK settled mid-pack off the leading pair inside, saved ground early on the turn, moved out three wide leaving that bend while gaining willingly, struck the lead at the eighth pole and put to stronger urged, responded to forge clear. SEEING RED stalked the early leader then moved nearer to press from outside entering the turn, took over the lead by the quarter pole, was in turn overtaken nearing the furlong grounds, proved no match for the winner but held the place from BIG ROWDY DAN, who was bumped at the break, settled at the back racing outside, raced four to five wide on the turn, floated six wide into upper stretch, drifted in a bit while finishing up strongly but too late and missed second. SILVER R broke awkwardly and bumped with a rival, was thereupon ridden to move forward between runners, chased three to four wide on the turn, drifted five wide into the stretch and came up empty. EDMUND FITZGERALD moved clear, set the pace inside, was challenged on the turn, weakened in the stretch. I KNOW YOU LOVE ME was outpaced and not a factor.
